Beaches

A Family friendly beach with an outdoor shower, great for swimming and snorkelling. Set up your picnic rug on the shaded lawn and enjoy a coffee from The Green Beanie (onsite coffee van), while the kids play on the playground. Situated next to the Dongara Denison Beach Holiday Park, Grannys Beach is the perfect spot to swim and relax. 

During the Summer School Holidays, Vac Swim provide swimming lessons for Stage 1 through to Stage 15. Enrolment can be made through VacSwim.

SURF BEACH

Head north along the path from Granny’s Beach and you will find Port Denison’s Surf Beach. Accessible from a carpark on Ocean Drive, this beach is frequented by surfers and bodyboarders of all ages. The rocky bottom and backwash make’s it less attractive for swimming.

NUN’S POOL

Located south of the Irwin River Mouth is Nun’s Pool, naturally sheltered by surrounding reef it’s an ideal spot for swimming and snorkelling.
This section of beach was frequented by the Dominican Sisters whilst in residence at the old convent now commonly known as the Priory Lodge, hence the name, Nun’s Pool.

SEASPRAY BEACH

Seaspray Beach is a beautiful beach that connects the Irwin River to the Indian Ocean. Just a short stroll from the Seaspray Caravan Park and Seaspray Café, this section of beach provides access to a public shower and toilet facility.

SOUTH BEACH

The famous South Beach is a family friendly beach perfect for swimming, surfing, kite surfing, paddle boarding and wind surfing. November to March provides the best wind conditions for windsurfing and kite boarding enthusiasts. You can drive your vehicle along South Beach at all times of the year, ensuring your vehicle is suited to the beach tracks. Beautiful white sand dunes are parallel to the coastline of South Beach and Sea Folk Cafe has toilet and shower facilities.

The Dongara Denison Surf Life Saving Club meets every Sunday morning during the months of October through to April for the Nipper’s activities.
