VERGE & FOOTPATH BONDS
When applying for a Building Permit for a new dwelling, a kerb bond of $1000 is required. A prebuild kerb inspection is carried out and a copy of the inspection report sent to the applicant. Once the build has been completed and a BA7 – Notice of Completion has been submitted, the applicant will be asked to fill out a bond reimbursement form, and a post-build inspection is carried out. If no damage is noted the full bond is refunded. If there is damage, the bond or a portion there of, will be retained by the Shire for its repair, based on the estimate of the cost of reinstating the kerb and / or footpath.
VERGE TREATMENT & STREET TREES
Council Policy P17 Street Trees and Verge Treatment provides the direction for plantings in the Shire’s streets and verges.
Each project must submit an application for consultation with the Shire’s Operations Team, prior to approval.
