Home » Local Planning Scheme
A local planning scheme sets out the way land is to be used / developed and it classifies (or zones) areas for different land use within the Shire of Irwin. This is set out via a scheme text and scheme maps. The use of land in various zones is set out in the zoning table of the local planning scheme.
In addition, the deemed provisions of the Planning and development (Local Planning Schemes) Regulations 2015 apply to all local planning schemes. Where there is any inconsistency with the local planning scheme, the deemed provisions prevail.
In the spirit of reconciliation, the Shire of Irwin acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we live and operate and their connections to land, sea and community. We pay our respect to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
