The Dongara Public Library aims to deliver an extensive collection of items to meet the needs of the community of Dongara, Port Denison and surrounding areas. The items are updated regularly and come in the following formats:

- Junior Kindergarten -Picture board and large size books for young children
- Junior Fiction - Books suited for kids from 8 years old – 12 years old

- DVDs - TV Series & Feature Films
- Audiobooks - Books on CDs & mp3 players

- The Dongara Public Library is now a part of the Midwest Consortium that includes 12 libraries from around the Midwest.
- The consortium offers a free, one-card system which shares the same library database, meaning members can move between libraries easily and borrow items at any of the consortium libraries.
- Place a hold on an item before you attend the library.
- Renew your loaned items.
- Download and reserve eResources for BorrowBox and Libby – eBook or eAudiobook format.
- Register to become a member of the Dongara Public Library.
- Register to become a library volunteer.
- Place a hold on an item for any other library in the Consortium. (Restrictions are in place for the number of items loaned).
- Patrons can search collections using their own devices.
- Number of Items loaned has been increased to 12 items.

Library Services
Library services are provided jointly by the State Library of Western Australia and the Shire of Irwin. The service provides informational, educational, recreational and cultural materials in a variety of formats to all age groups.
Your local library is a link to all other service points within the State and through regular exchange of materials and inter-library loans, it provides access to over 2 million items of information.
Becoming a member
To become a member of the Dongara Public Library, complete a Library Membership Form and supply photographic identification to our friendly team members. The minimum borrower age is 12 years old.
Ebooks
We strive to provide a digital option for all our members. Borrow Box and Over Drive offer free eBooks & eAudiobooks to loan.
Borrow Box can be accessed by installing the Borrow Box app on your device through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, or via the website.
Over Drive can be accessed by installing the Over Drive app on your device through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store or via the website.
Donations
The Dongara Public Library accepts book and DVD donations, as long as their physical condition is good. The Library reserves the right to place donations that are not needed on the Free Stand.
Public access computer
The Dongara Public Library provides access to one public-use computer with word processing and internet access, with a time limit of one hour. Printing is available at a charge. The Library also provides photocopying and scanning facilities. All patrons utilising the public access computers must adhere to the Terms and Conditions of Use.
